On to Whitby

What a beautiful start to the day, clear skies, great B roads across towards Lincoln. And then a first for us, crossing the Humber Bridge. Thank goodness yesterday's wind has abated.

What a bad start to the day. Those lovely Lincolnshire B-roads, and oncoming vehicle, a loud crack

It's surprisingly difficult to find a lay-by when you need one! Anyway insurance company contacted, and replacement windscreen (or repair which I suspect won't be the case) next Thurs at Moffat.

Not too many pictures en route (and thanks to Liz for the two so far) because I was driving but even Liz couldn't capture the Red Arrow plane doing practice runs above RAF Waddington. At least the lunchtime coffee stop in Hessle (just west of Hull) provided this interesting curio

The run up to Whitby was horrible, roadworks, stationery traffic through Scarborough, rain (and the super glue I'd filled that chip with hadn't hardened so we had to stop and tape it over to stop the wipers picking up the glue.

Whitby looks interesting, lots of curious shops and quite a few curious pubs. A few random snaps

That last one for anyone who's ever drank in The Hobbit in Southampton.

Today's journey
