But a good start, 8 o'clock Liz gets the text that he'll be with us in an hour or so and it's not raining yet. Not was it when he arrived. A bit of shuffling the van around in the gravel hard-standing pitch meant he could park next without churning up the campsites grass which is probably still sodden.
Right, tip from the man. Don't stick super glue (as I did) in a windscreen chip, or nail varnish or anything else. If it's going to go it will go and it's not easy to stop it. In fact he said he could mend mine (despite how bad it looked) had I not glued it. Doh! Anyway nothing ventured nothing gained he had a go at drilling out the super glue. It worked so he could then work his magic with the resins they use.
I thought he did a good job
And saved me the £60 excess a new screen would have cost me, so he got a generous tip!
But now the rain has started but we have nothing for dinner so waterproofs on and up to butcher and baker. And a quick look in the upmarket outdoor shop (our looks downright down market, but stickers in the windows suggest it sells expensive technical outdoor gear). Saw several things we are interested in, but now's not the time to buy them, especially given the limited van space.
Just about to leave and the phone rang, the gang are all in the outlet woollen mill's coffee shop and our presence was requested so we could sort out a group meal one evening. All sorted, back to the van for a quiet afternoon stitting reading etc whilst the rain rained it down outside.
Only drizzling by pub time, so back to the one hand pump pub to easier for diners to leave so we could move on to the two hand pump pub.
Life is so exciting eh!
No photos today so here's one I took yesterday, the church in Moffat
