To be honest, it's been a quiet couple of days. Monday was spent mooching around the shops in Ayr. There is no doubt that Ayr was once a town of renown but it's a little run-down these days. In fact, the campsite has a food bank collection for one of the local schools
I don't give a monkeys what your politics are, but in a country as apparently 'first world' as Britain claims to be, abject wide-spread child poverty is a disgusting failure of the system and something we all should be ashamed of!
Right, rant over! We added a little to the local economy in a couple of the outdoor shops and the local specialist whisky emporium, as well as the usual butchers, coffee shops etc. Sadly the need to drink proper decent real ales, after the understandable lack on the Western Isles, did mean that I sacrificed my principles and increased Tim Martin's (Wetherspoons) profits.
Today the weather was set wet so we thought a bus ride. And where better (or was it, where cheaper?) to go than Kilmarnock. A place I'm not sure has seen better days but definitely looking a tad jaded now. Still some interesting bronzes in the pedestrian precinct

But little else of interest. At least the rain didn't disappoint, it was raining steadily on the walk back to the van; out coats are still drying.
